How To Prepare My Oatmeal Pancakes - Video

June 11, 2007 7:23 PM | Diet | Video | Comments (7)

People always ask me about oatmeal pancakes - a nutritious meal that actually tastes good, too. There is more than one way to make them oatmeal pancakes, and the video will show you how I make mine (see video).

The reason I eat oatmeal pancakes is because I have to stay lean which requires eating foods high in protein, low in fat, and with good carbohydrates (to give me energy).  I also find them quite convenient, as I can eat them when I'm on the go without utensils.

I eat mine plain, with no syrup.  If you must, you can use sugar free syrup if you need the extra sweetness.   All you need is: 1 cup of egg whites, 3/4 cup of water, 1 cup oatmeal (do not use instant), cinnamon & nutmeg (season to taste) and 1 banana (apple is also an option).

You use 1 cup of egg whites (it's stated in the very last paragraph). Enjoy!
Hey Yeah, I was just wondering... the whole oatmeal pancake thing sounds great and all but I don't recall you indicating how much egg whites to use... I am really anxious to try this recipe but do not want scrambled oatmeal eggwhites instead of oatmeal pancakes... Akanke Warrior Please Help!
This is such a simple recipe thank you for sharing it with us. I added rasins and pecans to the recipe which made it very tasty. I have adopted 'Oatmeal Pancakes" in my eating regimen. Thank you Maggie
Thanks so much for sharing this great recipe with us. It's now become a staple in my diet, both as a breakfast and a snack item. I modified the recipe slightly to accommodate my definitely pronounced sweet tooth in that I substituted 1/3 cup of dried cranberries for the optional banana or apple. It makes an awesome taste sensation.
I tried them again, with quaker oats, instead of steel cut, and less egg white, and they came out much much better- I think the steel cut oats don't work as well as the Quaker... they were quite good!
I'm glad it helped. Funny you mentioned it because although I gave the recipe to a couple of friends, they said they didn't come out the same. So I had hoped the video would help! I eat those things almost everyday!
Hi, I tried these as a variation from my daily steel cut oatmeal breakfast - I think next time I will add more egg whites, but I have to say, they were really good and quite filling! Awesome video, it really makes it easier to learn the recipe.
