Fluoride May Be Dangerous to Your Health

| | | According to a study by Cancer Causes and Control, an online peer-review journal of Harvard University, drinking fluoridated water causes osteosarcoma, a rare malignant bone tumor. The study found an association between fluoride levels in drinking water during childhood and osteosarcoma for males diagnosed before age 20 years.

The + Little + Things = Success

| | | If you hang around me long enough, you’ll eventually hear me say “Your results are the sum of the little decisions you make everyday.” In the fitness world, this means that your efforts – good or bad – will determine how you look and feel. When people see a great body, they usually ask “What did she do to get a body like that?” A more appropriate question would be “What does she do?” I say this because there is no one exercise that gets you in great shape – there is no one food that makes you lose weight. |
Lose Weight With Your Cell Phone

| | | You maybe able to use your cell phone to lose weight! Researchers with the PACE (Patient-centered Assessment and Counseling for Exercise and Nutrition) project at University of California, San Diego School of Medicine are working to develop and evaluate a cell phone application (mDIET) that can be used as an assessment and intervention tool to improve dietary behaviors and thus reduce weight in overweight and moderately obese (BMI 25-34.9) men and women ages 25-55.
mDiet will use cell phone technology to remind participants to eat nutritional food throughout the day and give up-to-date methods to weight loss and lifestyle changes.

Lifespan of Americans Falling Behind Other Countries

| | | Something is wrong with this scenario. The richest country on the planet that spends the most on healthcare is decreasing in international rankings for life expectancy. Life expectancy in the United States is surpassed by Japan, most of Europe, Jordan, Guam and the Cayman Islands. Although Americans are living longer than before, they are not living as long as 41 other countries.
A baby born in the United States in 2004 will live an average of 77.9 years, however, the life expectancy ranks 42nd which is down from 11th just 20 years ago. These numbers are according to international numbers provided by the Census Bureau and domestic numbers from the National Center for Health Statistics.

| | | If this question is coming from an otherwise healthy, active individual, then nine times out of ten, the answer is: You’re not eating as healthy as you think. Without even going into frequency of meals, or how important breakfast is, let’s discuss the variety of foods that are often touted as healthy, causing the masses to rush right out and buy them. In an attempt to cut down on “bad” things, people migrate to other bad things without even knowing it. |
