21 Weeks Pregnant

| | | 21 Weeks pregnant as of Friday. This week was exciting because I felt the baby move! It turns out this had been going on for about a week, I just wasn’t sure what it was. At first, I thought it was just muscle spasms. Then I realized that they didn’t go away. Finally, last Saturday, I felt the sensation again and had Patrick put his hand on my belly and he felt it as well. That’s when I finally realized the baby was kicking me. A friend asked what it felt like. To me, it just feels like someone bumped into me – on the inside. Some days, he moves a lot and some not as much, but ever since he started, I feel him move at least a little bit every day. |
20 Weeks Pregnant

| | | I am 20 weeks pregnant as of Friday! This means I have crossed the halfway point, which is an exciting milestone! Since he’s 20 weeks old now, my baby is about the length of a banana. And I officially “look pregnant” now. I realized this while we were on vacation last week. When we were checking in, a gentleman was offering everyone champagne.
I was preparing to decline it, but before I could open my mouth, he said “I can make a non-alcoholic drink for you.” Later, as Patrick and I were waiting for a shuttle bus, a man behind the front counter said “Congratulations.”

19 Weeks Pregnant

| | | 19 weeks pregnant as of last Friday. This week was relatively uneventful. I got a few workouts in, one was weight training, and the rest was walking. My symptoms were not too bothersome – just a weird taste in the mouth. Also, Mom sent me some maternity clothes, which are greatly appreciated and needed! And I paid a visit to Motherhood maternity to get a swimsuit.
I had my regular OB appointment today, which was short. Normally, I would have had my “20 week ultrasound” today, but since I see a specialist and just had a detailed ultrasound, it was not necessary. The doctor simply checked for the heartbeat and asked me if I had any questions. My weight is now 134 pounds. Next checkup is in 4 more weeks. |
18 Weeks Pregnant - It's a Boy!

| | | As of yesterday, I am 18 weeks pregnant. Overall, this week was much better than before. My physical symptoms have been reduced to constipation (though not as bad as before), congestion, and bleeding gums. I am happy to report that the nausea is has not returned. I still tend to have the irritability and down days sometimes, but unlike my first trimester, fortunately, I no longer wake up every singe day wondering “How on earth am I going to get through this one?” Since I’ve been feeling better, I’ve been more consistent with exercise this week. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I went for walks. |
