26 Weeks Pregnant

| | | I am 26 weeks pregnant as of today. This was a pretty hectic week, but nothing out of the ordinary pregnancy-wise. On Saturday, my baby was kicking up a storm! It seemed like the whole day, he was kickboxing! It was pretty cool. After that, he returned to his “normal” kicking pattern – off and on during the day. I find that I like it when he kicks. It lets me know he’s doing okay in there.
On Thanksgiving I found that I could not eat as much as I wanted because there’s less room for my stomach. So although the food was delicious, I had to stop or risk worsening the “food in my esophagus” feeling! |
25 Weeks Pregnant

| | | 25 weeks pregnant as of this past Friday. I’ve been feeling a lot like normal with a few exceptions. On a few occasions, I did feel tired for no apparent reason, and although I still experienced the “heartburn”, it wasn’t as bad as it was at first. Since I felt good, I did pretty well working out with some modifications.
Saturday I did a leg workout at home. I did some lunges, dumbbell squats, dumbbell dead lifts, and inner and outer thighs lying on the floor. Sunday, I worked upper body at the gym and it felt good. I did the incline bench press instead of flat, and I avoided the traditional lat pull down because I learned earlier on that it puts a weird strain on my stomach. I used the Hammer Strength lat pull down instead. It allows you to pull along an arc starting from up and in front of you to down by your sides. |
Decisions, Decisions - Prenatal Testing

| | | When I discovered I was pregnant, I learned there were many decisions to be made. Do I want an OB or midwife at delivery? If given the choice, would I choose a vaginal birth or C-section? Do I want an epidural or natural birth? Will I breastfeed or bottle feed? Most of these decisions are pretty straightforward to me. If I’m not immediately sure, I just do research, ask questions, choose what I think will be best for the baby, and move on. I also know to remain flexible because things don’t always go as planned. Prenatal testing is a different story. |
24 Weeks Pregnant

| | | I was 24 weeks pregnant as of Friday. I forgot to mention that at my weight is 134 pounds, same as last visit. This was a pretty uneventful week. No pain, just kicking! I can tell that my walk has changed. I’m not sure if it actually looks different to anyone else, but I feel like I’m waddling a little bit. I can only imagine what it will feel like in 2 more months!
This week, I’ve been having weird feelings in within my digestive system. I say that because it’s not always my stomach. Sometimes it feels like I have to burp, but I can’t. That feeling will stay with me for hours.

23 Weeks Pregnant

| | | This will be a short post, and I apologize for the delay in posting as well!
23 weeks as of Friday. By Saturday, I was feeling much better. My belly would still hurt at times, but it seemed to be isolated on the right side and at the most caused me to need to sit down. Sunday and Monday there was minimal pain off and on. By Tuesday, I was back to “normal.”
I did some walking and working out at home this week. I had my OB appointment on Friday. She explained that the reason my fibroids were hurting was probably because they had outgrown their blood supply, causing some of the cells to die.

22 Weeks Pregnant

| | | 22 weeks pregnant as of Friday. Saturday, we went to the hospital where I will deliver the baby and did an OB tour. We were shown the delivery room, which was much nicer than I expected. Actually, before that I had ever seen one in real life, I guess I’m just comparing it to the ones I see on the Discovery Channel.
And I’m sure with 10 people in the room it seems quite different than it did on that quiet, peaceful day. We also saw the “recovery rooms” (the ones you stay in until you leave) and they were nice as well. We saw the baby nursery, and the NICU – which is the neonatal intensive care unit which, of course, I hope I don’t need.
