I slammed the breaks and hit my horn. We could see the startled driver talking on his cell phone as he drove by. He simply wasn’t paying attention. Surprisingly, a police car was sitting at the red light to our left but he did nothing. We couldn’t believe the police officer didn’t see the close call!

Understanding Your Resting & Exercise Heart Rate

| Resting heart rate gives an indication of stress and overtraining levels, while exercise heart rate gives an indication of exercise intensity. Monitoring your resting and exercise heart rate over time as you train will change over time and provide you with good markers of physical conditioning. To properly measure your heart rate, find your pulse and count how many pulses you detect for 30 seconds. Now multiply the number of pulses by 2 which gives you pulses per minute thus your heart rate (beats per minute or bpm).
