Keep On Keepin' On

June 25, 2008 8:19 PM | Motivation | Comments (2)

Sometimes it’s hard to reach our goals.  Oh, it’s easy to start.  It’s even manageable to keep it up for a few days, or even weeks, but when the hard stuff hits, we are thrown off track.  And when we mess up, we figure we’ve ruined everything, so we stop.  Sometimes the hard part is continuing.  We don’t fail because we don’t start.  We don’t fail because it’s too difficult.  We fail because we don’t finish.  We can be our own worst enemy.

Have you ever stopped doing something, only to look back months later and say “If only I had stuck with it, I would be much further along by now?”

The + Little + Things = Success

August 19, 2007 6:00 PM | Motivation | Comments (0)

If you hang around me long enough, you’ll eventually hear me say “Your results are the sum of the little decisions you make everyday.” In the fitness world, this means that your efforts – good or bad – will determine how you look and feel.

When people see a great body, they usually ask “What did she do to get a body like that?” A more appropriate question would be “What does she do?” I say this because there is no one exercise that gets you in great shape – there is no one food that makes you lose weight.

How is Your Spiritual Health?

June 19, 2007 11:01 PM | Motivation | Comments (0)

Not feeling healthy? Yes you say!  You have been exercising and you are in pretty good shape, but you still feel unhealthy.  Or you are not in shape, but something is missing to give you the desire and discipline to get healthy.  Well maybe you need to take a look at your spiritual health.  Good health is a combination of physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being.  If all these things are not in equilibrium, you will not feel completely healthy.

Spirituality can deeply affect your health.  People who have developed good spiritual health realize that it gives their life meaning and purpose.

The reason you probably stumbled upon this site or article is because you are seeking knowledge when it comes to your health. You maybe seeking information to lose weight, learn a different exercise, tone a body part, or you maybe looking for a personal trainer. You are looking for a change.

Health is a combination of physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. Care must be taken to ensure that all these dimensions in your life are taken care of. To improve any of these dimensions in our lives require change.

Exercise Can Help Ease Depression

May 28, 2007 8:53 PM | Exercise | Motivation | Comments (3)

“Just snap out of it!” That’s the common cliché when it comes to dealing with someone who’s depressed. If you’ve been through depression, or know someone who has, you know that it’s not that simple, and that statement can actually make a person feel worse. Depression, or as I call it, the “invisible illness” can take a toll on an individual and his or her loved ones.

It’s hard to understand and can cause erratic behavior for seemingly unexplained reasons. With the proper treatment, this can be overcome successfully.

Ways to Overcome the Boredom of Exercise

May 20, 2007 2:59 PM | Exercise | Motivation | Comments (0)

Let’s face it, exercising can get boring.  Going to the gym 3 days per week, like anything else in life, can become very monotonous.  If you eat your favorite food 3 days per week - every week - it more than likely will get boring.  To keep the boredom away, there are a few things you can do.

Listen to Music
I must have my MP3 player when I work out!  I can store over 5,000 different tracks on my MP3 player, so I will never become bored of hearing the same music.
