Healthy balanced diet for women and men is extremely important and a balanced diet must contain adequate proportions of protein. Therefore, grains are consumed which are extremely rich in proteins. Cereals form an ideal source of carbohydrates. Pulses are rich in fatty acids. Whole grains contain nutritious substances like iron, magnesium and phosphorous that act as cofactors for the enzymatic activities inside the body. The examples are:

* Wheat bread
* Brown rice
* Oatmeal
* Pasta
* Soya bean
* Cereal
* Corns

Diets high in fat and cholesterol (especially from animal sources) have been linked to an increased risk of colon cancer. Low-fiber diets have also been associated with increased risk, but the research isn't as clear. This recommendation is independent of weight. Even if you can eat steak and liver at every meal and stay trim, you're still increasing your risk of developing colon cancer by virtue of what you're eating. A balanced diet seems to be the way to go.

Healthy eating begins with learning how to “eat smart”—it’s not just what you eat, but how you eat. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well as defend against depression. Additionally, learning the habits of healthy eating can boost your energy, sharpen your memory and stabilize your mood.

Add in healthy goodies you really love, like deep-red cherries, juicy grapes, or crunchy snow peas. Slip those favorite fruits into your bag lunch and breakfast cereal; add the veggies into soups, stews, and sauces.

"Adding in really works, taking away never does," says registered dietitian David Grotto, RD, LDN, author of 101 Optimal Life Foods, but do remember to keep an eye on overall calories. And don't forget to add in something physical, too, whether it's doing a few dance moves before dinner, shooting hoops, or taking a quick stroll.

Walking when the weather's nice is a super-easy way to keep fit, says Diane Virginias, a certified nursing assistant from New York. "I enjoy the seasons," she says, adding that even when she's short on time she'll go out for a few minutes. "Even a five minute walk is a five minute walk."

A healthy diet is one that helps maintain or improve general health. It is important for lowering many chronic health risks, such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and cancer. A healthy diet involves consuming appropriate amounts of all essential nutrients and an adequate amount of water.

We should always take healthy and balanced foods for healthy life.
Our food must include all the necessary elements of healthy foods such as all vitamins, protein, fiber, and carbohydrates. We should include all fruits, vegetables, grains, meat, milk, eggs, and fish in our foods.
